Tricks were used to divert the attention on the 21,00 troops and disregarding the 5,000 soldiers to Afghanistan. People must be careful about the numbers problem in order not to be fooled.

It is not a trick rather than reflection of the political and military confusion the USA is undergoing as a result of the resistance activities in Iraq and Afghanistan against occupation.

Because Afghanistan is not [yet] a lost cause. However, if Bush continues focusing on Iraq, Afghanistan is going to end up biting us in the rear. We've neglected that country, which we shouldn't have, since that was the one that actually had terrorists in it originally.

That's true and media tricks are used a lot to take the focus off of activities by the government. Although in this case, I don't think anyone opposed more troops in Afghanistan.

I say send 20,000 troops to Afganistan. That would get everyones support.
To date, after the billions spent, and the 25000 casualties, we have still not avenged the 3000+ we lost In the terrorist act!!!
Overwhelm the taliban this spring with a gift of 30000 support troops included.
You do that you will have hurt the people responsible for 9/11
thats progress!!!!
30,000 troops would crush the taliban...and every american and every soldier would support that!!!
Id reenter to go fight that war
