I just think it's overused.
It's up there with Sexy in terms of overkill: once furniture starts being described as "hot" or "sexy", you know the word is meaningless.
So I don't really care either way. It's better than being called ugly, but it's nothing special.

Being called 'hot' can make you feel important and special at first but after awhile you realize that being called 'hot' is the sign that this person is judging you from the outside because any guy that sincerly knows a woman will know better than to call her 'hot' because he knows her better than that.

Guys wake up.
Calling a girl hot is degrading.
Hot is from heat as in a female animal in heat fertitle and ready for sex to procreate, and the guys are not thinking babies.
Of course you can tell the next animal who calls you hot, "Hey look, I am not a cat in heat! And if I was, you would be the last man on earth I would procreat with!"

Do they call you hot.. or is it just other girls they are calling hot and you are jealous? If your being called hot... you should not worry... it is just another name for beautiful and sexy... hell, who wouldn't want to be called hot.... guys are hot, girls are hot... same difference!!!

You are not alone. I agree with you. When guys say "hot" they are referring to your body. Which means that its a temporary thing, 'cause as sad as it is, bodies don't look the same with age.
I don't mean to sound all girly but it has to be more than a physical thing. Obviously saying "You're hott" is a physical statement.
Who knows WHAT they're thinking when they say that.

If I know the guy and I like him, it's awesome! But if it's like some random guy across the street, "Hey! I think you're hott!" That would creep me out.
