I have a JVC GR-AX25U camcorder when i put in old tapes to view them nothing id displayed othere than a snowy screen. Same hapens when i go to record somthing.

Older analog camcorders use the same 8mm tapes as digital cameras, so if these tapes were recorded on an analog camera, and the new one is digital, they won't play. Another possibility is that the camcorder head is dirty. You can buy a cleaning tape to fix this.

I hope a cleaning tape will solve your issues. I suspect you have been using different brands of tapes in your camcorder, which, becasue the different tape manufacurers all use different tape ubricating fluids, that in a camcorder, do not play well together and gum up the play heads. If this is the case, a professonal tape head cleaning may be in order.

the snowy screen can happy if the machines too hot. ive had that problem once. make sure the film is clean (usually it is) and aligned in the cassette. it also happens a lot when you rewind or fast forward a lot. (and the it gets hot and the tape gets misaligned.)
