What are the laws for making a citizen's arrest in NJ?

Who can you arrest, for what, and how?

Can you physically restrain them if possible/necessary?

Just be very careful if you ever decide to do this.....you can wind up being sued. You WILL have to fill out statements and eventually go to court. It's much more better to call the police.

You can make a citizens arrest for almost anything, but detaining them is a crime! It is called kidnapping!
