We posted a sign above the toilet that he helped write. HE gets up in the middle of the night to pee and sometimes forgets...I can understand that, SOMETIMES, cuz he's still sort of asleep but today he dropped a deuce in the afternoon and didnt flush the damn toilet. This makes his mother and I very disappointed. What else can we do to help him remember?
We thought of changing the sign every week and posting another by the light switch.
I hope some wonderful people can help with some ideas.
Thanks again.
B.

Just keep reminding him. I have two boys of my own and when they were younger I had to remind them to flush. If you see him before he goes to use the toilet, give him a little reminder, such as, "hey buddy, remember to flush the toilet".... when he is done using it, walk in the bathroom and check to make sure he flushed. if he did, give him a high-five or something "manly". If he forgot, call him in the bathroom and make him do it in front of you and then don't make a big issue out of it. Give him a thanks, and move on to something else. He will eventually stop forgetting. He is still a little guy.

Make it his chore to clean the toilet. Buy some of those disposable disinfecting wipes (the cheapo brands are just as good, and half the price), teach him to wipe down the toilet seat and rim. Get one of those bowl-scrubbing wands with disposable cleaning heads, and teach him to scrub out the bowl. It's a 2-3 minute job, that my 5 year old dd has been able to do (with supervision) for at least a year. Make sure he washes his hands well after handling the cleaners.

This is not a punishment, it's a responsibility. Maybe once he starts to take some pride in having a clean toilet, he will think more about flushing.

I also like "answers" reponse, to just keep giving friendly reminders and not make it such an issue. He's probably not doing it intentionally-- most boys really seem to be missing some vital hygiene gene... LOL

First as a mom to 3 and one of them a boy...you need to grow up as parents. "dropped a deuce" what are you 15? Kids sometimes forget to flush. Reminding him will help but it's a kids thing. Let him know it's important to remember to flush so the toilet is always clean for everyone else. Other than that, I'd say you need to learn how to handle children, sure sounds like you aren't ready.

A potato, finding on the size, would have a stressful time setting up down a rest room, it could make it previous the capture yet making it previous the final bend and for the time of the outlet would be extremely the project. So an auger ought to no longer be your appropriate guess. i'd get a save vac in there first and spot in case you are able to suck it out. you will could get somewhat down and grimy by ability of first sucking up a super sort of the water out of the bowl. Then shove the hose as a techniques in as you are able to, use a towel to wrap around hose to objective and save too lots air from being sucked in from the bowl. attempt this quite a few circumstances. If that doesn't paintings then your next decision is to drag the bathroom out, take it exterior, turn it the different way up and attempt and push it lower back by utilising a hose, or an auger. If that doesn't paintings then you definately ought to could purchase a clean bathroom. sturdy success! in case you wind up paying for a clean bathroom, i prefer to propose a Kohler Wellworth. they have an more suitable capture and outlet and can guard lots greater of a load than a common bathroom. they have the three inch flush valve yet are priced around $a hundred and forty rather of the $250+ that Toto loos choose for.

When you realise he hasnt flushed, go and remind him he forgot to flush the toilet and he should quikly go and flush it before someone walks in there and finds it. My daughter is 4, and she has never once refused to flush the the toilet when i have reminded her to go and do it. Just keep trying, he will soon remember
