This guy keeps telling me he loves me. I DON'T love him. I don't actually like Mr. Emotional all that much. But I still don't want to hurt his feelings. What do I do?

For those of you who got a little confused, we're not going out. We're just friends--or at least I think of it that way.

I respect that you don't want to hurt the guys feelings. That shows a lot of class on your part. However, the way you describe this guy, he's not going to stop pursuing you unless you make it clear to him it's not going to happen. I don't recommend being insulting about it, but I would tell him you don't like it when he says that he loves you and ask him to stop. If he gets upset about it, just tell him that is the way his actions make you feel and there is no room for debate about that. I would also make it clear that if he continues to do it anyway, that you will have nothing to do with him.
This shouldn't hurt his feelings, but even if it does, you're doing him a favor because the next person that comes along that he does that to might not be so kind. Even though it doesn't feel good to know that your actions might bring someone else pain, it is far better than the pain of trying to dodge the issue. Also, if he learns what proper behavior is from this experience then it will be well worth it.

You have to let him know. Leading him on is worse than hurting his feelings now. They will be more hurt in the future when he finds out.
....unless you're starting to "love" him back. Then I would just tell him "I think I will love you, just not right now" or something like that.
Have you said that you do "love" him?
Also, if he's a "player" he may not mean it. So it'd be best to leave him, though if he's sweet be sure to let him down gently because he most likely does love you.

Well, I mean, think of it this way. If you don't say anything, he could take that as you like him too and your just shy to say it. So, I mean, if your totally like, Ms. Nice Nice to him, stop, and take it easy. Just let him or one of his good friends know that your not tottaly into him and that you just want to be friends. You would hurt his feelings a whole lot more if he asked you out and you said no. It's hard girl, i know.

Why are you with him if you don't like him all that much? Just let him know that it isn't working out for you, if you don't want to hurt his feelings then how do you think he is going to feel when he finds out you are just leading him on?

We can always get the ones we don't want to love us. It seems to work out this way too many times.

You're not doing him or yourself any favors by dragging this out. Cut him loose now so you can both find the people you deserve. Life is too short to settle for less!

Just tell him that you dont feel that way about him, sit him down and just tell him straight, just dont be too mean about it. He may get a little hurt, but dont worry he'll get over it soon.

why stay with someone you don't even like. get out of that relationship girl. guys get over break ups a lot faster than girls do. he won't be sad long **** he might even find a girl the next day or so. don't worry about breaking his heart. they do it to us women all the time. its time they had a taste of their own medicine. hahah
