Yes it's quite possible. Colleges have day care centers, so you certainly won't be alone.

You'll also find plenty of financial aid to help you attend college, so get your FAFSA filed before the end of February. File at www.fafsa.ed.gov Be sure to answer yes to the question about if you have a child.

Your future isn't ruined, unless you allow it to be. Focus on your goals, enlist the help of anyone who is willing to help you, and take care of yourself. Don't think about college as the fun place to vacation for 4 years. Instead, think of it as a means to provide a better life for you and your child.

Good luck!

Take a deep breath and start to do some thinking, OK? Ready?

It is possible to go to college, get a degree and raise a child. Is it easy? No! But then is going to college easy? No! Is raising a child easy? NO!!

This will take a lot of planning and organizing. Are you good at that? If not find someone who is and ask for help.

First you must think of the child....can you give this child a good, solid, stable home? Will you be putting the child's interest above all else? Are you ready to devote 18 years of your life to this child and are you willing to help in every possible way, shape and form? What can you give this child? You have to be very ready to put a few things on hold until such a time as you would be able to handle them.
Getting a degree while having a child, working to pay bills and living is difficult but not impossible. College will take extra time....time that at first you will not have. So if you can take a class here and there while raising a child and working it will help, but if not don't get discouraged. You can and will make it if you want it bad enough.

I raised six children on my own and got my degree just last year.
It took me nine years to accomplish something most people accomplish in four, but it was worth every sacrafice I ever made.
My children are almost grown and I can start working and doing the things that I love. I will now start living a life of my own. I don't regret waiting until I was 47 to start college.

It is not hard at all. Your only real concern will be finding someone to watch you child while you are in class. Otherwise, having achild is actually beneficial to you. You will now be eligible for a lot more grant and loan money through the FAFSA. You will also be eligible for scholarships for single moms (if you are single), and you will prob be eligible for medicaid if your income isn't too high.

First take a deep breath. It is possible!
But it is going to be insanely hard to go full time to school. So the best suggestion is taking 1-2 classes a semester. this will be able to manage a full time job.... but keep in mind this will extend graduation a few years but it is well worth it

As human beings have stated the following, it truly is noticeably not likely that you would possibly want to get a job as a Speech therapist for a college gadget until eventually you've a SLP degree or significant. besides the undeniable fact that, there are some different, extra encouraging issues i might want to factor out. First, early formative years particular ed instructors are uncommon. Kudos for you for having that type of educating!! in case you stay the position there are higher or extra rich college structures, I advise going and doing an "informational" interview with some particular training administrator for those districts. the position I stay, to illustrate, some structures have particular ed ECE instructions, or use a particular Ed ECE instructor as a representative to accepted ECE instructors. 2d, particular ed is not merely individual instructions. The regulation, as i'm particular you know, says spec Ed might want to be contained in the least restrictive ecosystem, a lot of particular ed incorporates operating with accepted instructors as a representative, taking very small communities of children for particular matters (maximum customarily language arts, it truly is getting close to on your hobbies), and purely as a very last motel, finished day in a separate room. those finished day rooms in many situations have low numbers of children, too, to competently meet the desires of the children. My caution about it truly is that smaller and a lot less properly funded college structures might want to no longer have the completed decision of particular ed facilities. As a 0.33 decision, you would possibly want to artwork in the route of a SLP significant at the same time as you tutor early formative years particular ed. it may well be efficient in case you refer to a virtually SLP application, to confirm what the opportunities might want to be. also, your state branch of steerage's website might want to be able to inform you what's had to get SLP certification

Just be realistic. If you have to put on hold the education for a few years until the baby is bigger then that might be wiser, but if you decide to do both now then it won't be impossible. It will be hard but it can be done.Good luck. What's up with the dad?

I don't have kids, but I have known people who have gotten pregnant, had kids already, supported family and did better in college than singles like me. It all depends on how you approach things in your life. Good luck.
