Hello;

From your Q&A it seems that sometime during your life you had a really bad experience. First of all, Jesus never forced anyone to believe in Him or His teachings. This is being done by individuals and groups who have interpreted the Bible to fit their own needs and understandings. This is not limited to Christians. Followers of Islam do the same.

The religions of the world did not bring a plague on the earth as you mentioned. Those who use religion for their own gains do that. Yes, wars are fought for and against religions. One must consider the other reasons for war. Politics, greed, revenge, the need of land or resources. Putting all the blame on religion is not correct.

If you do not believe in God or a Supreme Being. That is your choice. Your not believing in Him does not change the fact that He does. Science can neither prove nor disprove that God exists.

As I say to others who share your views about God. Go outside some night, look up into the sky and ask yourself how all those stars go there? We see the wind, but we know not from where it comes or where it is going. Who directs the birds on there southern migration every year? How is it that our planet rotates more than 16 1/2 miles per second. Yet there is no sensation of motion? How do bees get back to their hives, and when they do they use a higher form of mathematics to relate this information to the rest of their kind?

The odds that our universe came into existance by a random accident. Are the same as you taking a pocket watch apart. Placing all the pieces in a paper bag. Shaking it until all the pieces come out reassembled!

You need not see God, to know that He exists. The evidence is all around us.

The understanding I have from a careful study of the Bible answers all the difficult questions humans often ask. Since my understanding answers so many of the key questions I consider the God question completely proven from a logical standpoint.

When I look as a scientist at alternative theories I find that all of them fall short on most of the important questions that humans have about life. These questions include Who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I here? What should I be doing with my life? How did it all begin? What are UFO's? How do mediums seem to know so much about so many people they have never met? Is astrology important? Why is racism wrong? What rules about interaction with fellow humans should I follow? And why? Where can I look for truth? Can I find truth? What happens when a human dies? When a animal dies? What does the future hold for the human race? What does it have for me? What is the most important think in life? How can I gain true happiness? Can I depend on humans for direction? Can I trust humans? What is worth dying for? How should I raise my children? Should I stay with my wife? And if so, why?

How important is pleasure in our lives? How important is sacrifice? How important should money and wealth by to me? What should I do with my money? Should I work hard, and if so why? Is it worth living even though it is challenging and painful and sad? Is there something more?

You're spending too much time around people that are a plague, but it need not be that way. I would let the "force their beliefs on other people" type of people not bother you. It's perfectly acceptable to have conversations about spiritual beliefs or not having spiritual beliefs and to defend your beliefs. The key is to not get offended or defensive. I think we can co-exist. By the way, I believe in God because there are too many coincidences and unexplainable events that happen for me to believe otherwise.

Often, we can assure ourselves with almost absolute certainty without even seeing the thing for ourselves. For example, by looking out the window and seeing the trees swaying we can assume that it is windy. By observing the lights going on, we can assume there is electricity in the wires. Or by bouncing electrons off of sub-microscopic objects, we can construct a working of their form.

So too, the fact that there is a Primal Source for all that exists is one of the most evident facts there is. So is the fact that this Primal Source generates this world with design/intelligence.

The concept of a Primal Source relies on an axiom that all of science relies upon: the Principle of Explanation. This principle simply states that all phenomena must have an explanation. Science is the endeavor of discovering those explanations. Molecules are explained by the dynamics of atoms. Atoms are explained by the dynamics of their sub-particles. The sub-particles are explained by photons. Eventually, there must be an explanation for the existence of matter and energy.

Without this principle, not only would there be no science, there would be no human endeavor whatsoever. In everything we do, we rely on the assumption that each thing has an explanation, thereby providing us with a consistent universe to deal with. Imagine the confusion if everything just appeared as though it had suddenly arrived out of nowhere.

The Primal Source, then, is nothing more than the ultimate explanation for all that exists, the end of the chain.

What then, you ask, is the explanation for this Primal Source? But that is just the concept of a Primal Source: That there is something (if it can be called a “thing”) that does not require an explanation. Because otherwise we are really stuck: Either we surrender and say that there are things that do not require an explanation. Or we just say that the explanations go on and on ad infinitum—which really is the equivalent of saying that the cosmos as a whole has no explanation.

Instead, our alternative is to say that there is a Primal State of some sort that explains everything, including itself. How does it explain itself? Because it is infinite. Meaning it has no bounds or definition, no beginning or end.

Religion is traditional, believing is something personal.
Believing or not believing is a matter of chioce. I chose to believe, although I was brought up in a family who did not and do not believe, at least openly. Noone preached Christianity to me or tried to convert me. (In fact preachers often have the opposite effect.) Its just that I saw people who believe and heard them talk about themselves. Then I asked myself - what if?
All you have to do is ask the question within yourself - assume there is God (I know its hard) and ask your question directly, and ask for help. Open your mind and think that you are standing there ready for the answer. When it comes you will know.

Jesus preached against religion itself. When man sets aside God's laws for their own.
I believe in God because I have experienced Him. I see His creation as evidence of Him. Creation... creator.
I hope that you are at least seeking the truth. Truly seeking. Not believing in God does not make Him go away. It's not like you can just play hide and seek from His judgement. My belief in Him doesn't make Him true. Your unbelief doesn't make it untrue. Everyone will die some day. What will happen afterward will happen wether they believe in it or not.

I believe in God because He believed in Me and revealed Himself to me 36 years ago. God is not a theory with me, I sense His presence every day, and live in continual peace and freedom from a thousand things He has set me free from, including greed and fear and loneliness. And these are just the beginning of His blessings. I would have to be a complete fool to give up what I have for something as cheap and hollow as the trinkets of a dying world.

I just know he is real because he answers prayer, the prophecies in the bible come true, and I just know. When I see a baby being born on TV, see plants grow, look at this complex universe I just know he is there. I'm a Christian but it has nothing to do with religion. Everyone will meet him after we die and then you will know that he is real.
