(I'm not religious, but I am curious what Christians would say about this.)

And, if so, how?

Human clones (although that should be irrelevant).

^ That is, if human clones were to be created in the future. Would they have souls?

As much as any other individual does.

Identical twins are clones, and they are no different to anyone else.

WHAT A HORRIBLE QUESTION!!!!!! I can only assume that you don't understand what cloning is and would truly be. Cloning is merely causing a complete cell (having two strands of DNA) to start dividing and developing. A clone is a human, there is no difference. A clone is just and would be born a human baby. That baby would then proceed to live a life like you and I are. Even if I cloned myself, and carried the baby, that baby would not be me. That baby would hae a different environment and different genes would be expressed. The baby would most likely look a lot like me but may look as different from me as my sons do. The baby would grow into a different human being with different experiences and different thoughts and ideas than mine or anyone elses. Clones are human beings. Modern stem cell research is not looking to clone complete human beings. Modern stem cell research is looking into using undefferentiated cells to clone replacement organs and tissues for people who need transplants. It is also looking into introducing medicines and chemicals at the right time to correct genetic mutations or developmental failings to prevent, stop and cure disease. Even those who are looking to clone a human being are really doing very much the same thing as in-vitro fertilization, they are trying to make babies outside the womb.

theres no such things as clones. and if they were cloning people yes they would have souls because the cloning process isnt like the kind i think you are thinking about (like you step into a capsule and three of you come out) its just an odd way of manipulating embryos and some other weird stuff i dont really understand. but i do no that animal clones dont even look exactly like the animal they are cloned from, there dna structure or something is the same but they are not exact copies of one another.

Seeing that God gives life - and is the force that generates life, I would think a human clone would have a soul. That's no absolute - I am just giving it an educated guess.

However - if the clones were all (as in 100%) murdering and cruel, then I would have to recant.

I am a christian and No, clones do not have souls. The only human beings that have souls are the ones that GOD created. Man made clones, not GOD. He didnt breathe the breath of life into them, therefore, no they dont.

Well since the Christians think a fertilized egg is a person, then I would assume they would say that any cell with potential person-hood has a soul.

Personally I do not believe in a soul, but a self that is the combination of genetics, biology, and experience, an identity that we call "I".

If we have souls, then clones have souls because we are all part of a cloning experiment from god. Male & female created he them!

Would your identical twin have a soul? Of course he would.

A "clone" is nothing more or less than an artificial twin.

If it survives long enough to grow on it's own, yes. A soul is the life force that drives the continuance of life.

It matters.is it a reincarnation or a clone-clone..............reincarnations do have souls...clones don't...they do have a mind of their own....I think............Clones are a copy of you.........Think of it like this....if a tree's structure(sp?)was copied into a fake-tree, not made the same way, would it be alive, it would be like cylocon or plastic...A clone is part of you, and if it had a soul, it would have yours..Because it'd you.And if it has your soul.I guess you'd be dead....
