When one does not get rid of sin in their life by asking forgiveness, one does not feel the presence of God.

Evidence and proof. I think the universe has always been around and was never created. Therefore a god is not needed. And I dont consider what any religious text says about god. Those are just books written by humans at a time when there was little knowledge about the world and universe. But know we have some of that knowledge, through science.

Many people say that they do believe in God because of the Bible or because their priest told them so or because their parents did. For me, I can't just take someone's word for something so important. Other people say that they had a religious experience (talk to God or had preyers fulfilled) that has yet to happen to me. Right now God, Allah and Make Make (the native Easter Island god) are have are all just as likely to be the Big Boss come judgement day. Just because one has a lot of money and big churches doesn't mean they are any more right then one that was wiped out. What I'm trying to say is that it seems foolish to me to favor one over another when they all require one to take them on faith alone. It would be hypocritical of me to chose one on faith alone but not all the others.

Hmm. Let me see. Watching Cosmos by Carl Sagan and reading all of his books. Reading "The Origin of Species". Learning about the early church and how it manipulated the Bible to say whatever was deemed worthy. Learning about the Crusades, the Inquisition, the genocide of the North American Indians. Reading books by George Carlin. Many things led me to conclude that there was no god. But mostly common sense I think.

I read the Bible, cover to cover, Genesis to Revelation and I also read any extant books from ancient Rome and Greece.

The Bible is so full of blatant contradictions, superstitions and lies it's only through spoon feeding a heavily edited storyline to the pew sitters that the church maintains any control.

If most people understood how ridiculous the Bible really is, and how much of it was blatantly stolen from the surrounding cultures, they would toss it aside in a minute and have a good laugh.

This is implying I was once a theist.

I was born an atheist... and I still AM an atheist. If I ever see ANY evidence that a god exists, I'll maybe reconsider my position.

Science, taken as a whole, tends to cast serious doubt on the existence of a god.

As for the Bible god, common sense itself should tell you he doesn't exist. Do you have any knowledge of the Bible? Do you know about his emotional issues, his dementia and weird rules about animal sacrifice, slavery, and the like?

I think its highly unlikely that deities exist.

I arrived at this conclusion, due to the lack of evidence, coupled with Occams Razor and the contradictions of Omni entities and causality before time.

Lack of evidence, massive amounts of contradictory evidence, common sense, the Bible, proof that prayer does not change anything...
The list is 100 miles long...
