Bush asked them if they would like the $50 million bribe he offered them in cash or bullion.

I know you are referring to the China, Russian, etc.. pipeline and the fact that the USA created and funded the Taliban... plus the talks over the Taliban handing over Laden way before 911; but, I always found this interesting... took me a few minutes to find where I had this saved:

May 17, 2001: US Gives Taliban Millions for Poppy Ban

Secretary of State Powell announces that the US is granting $43 million in aid to the Taliban government, purportedly to assist hungry farmers who are starving since the destruction of their opium crop occurred in January on orders of the Taliban. [Los Angeles Times, 5/22/2001

what pipeline?I'm curious now...really
okay let me guess...does it run oil somewhere?
interesting
guess what?! Mr.Bush has visited Hungary this August to "celebrate the revolution day" which is actually in October and Hungary is gonna have a gas pipeline distribution center built.
I'm sure he didn't come to honour the revolution cause he didn't even get the century right in his speech.

Nothing.

You should have a little more skepticism of stupid conspiracy theories.

Another thing you should have paid attention to is that the pipeline would have provided very little (if any) benefit for the US as it is intended to serve markets in the Indian subcontinent.

I would guess the Taliban did not want do business interms of western economy-particularly the use of interest,as this is strictly against their rligion.

I am unsure, but we really should have been telling them a thing or two. For example, **** with our pipeline and without question, we will kill you.
