If you're in the U.S., whatever state you live in, there is a minimum age for driving, and it doesn't matter what grade you're in.

If you have a really good reason for driving, for example if you have a parent who can't walk, that's one thing. If you just want a driver's license to be cool, I hope you'll wait until you're 17. Auto accidents are the number 1 cause of death among teenagers, and statistics show that most people under 17 are not developmentally prepared to drive with full attention to the road. no it doesn't matter in the eyes of the law. usually you have to get your permit first.
