The major fighting in Iraq is in 5 providences that includes Baghdad. The other 13 providences have been largely untouched. These providences are being turnedover to Iraq's goverment and it's projected by the U.S. government that the U.S. will have been able to turn over all 18 providences by may of 2008.
According to the online CIA factbook Germany had twice the death rate per 1,000 people. France and the U.S. also had a higher death rate per 1,000 people for 2006. Iraq also has a very large birth rate even in 2006.
As far as those supposed thousands leaving Iraq, the CIA reported that Iraq has no loss or gain on migration. If 1,000 people left Iraq 1,000 would have had to go into Iraq.
The U.S. completed 85% of the infrastructure projects that it set out to do and has turned the remaining 15% over to the Iraqis.
The Iraqi's president says that the Iraqi police and military will be completely trained by June of this year.
Defense Secretary Gates said that if the U.S. Baghdad works, the U.S. should be coming home later this year.

The military war we are clearly winning.
The media war has been a devastating defeat hence the new rule in congress.
The crux of the problem lies in the fact that if "ANY" good news such as school children walking to school daily or a bustling market place is shown on the news, these then become the newest targets of homicide bombers.
If we let the media be an integral part of our decision making on how to pursue our goals then we are doomed and the terrorist know this.
We are between a rock and a hard place as a Republic. This has been there strategy and it has worked against us.
They know the left will use all the propaganda it can to gain power here in America as would the right when they are no longer there. This emboldens the extremists and they are increasingly swelling and growing in the crack in our political system.
The old saying United We Stand and Divided We Fall is the keystone in the extremist war with the U.S..They truly believe that if they continue the division in our country we will fall.
They also believe that if we are united they haven't a chance at achieving their way of life within and without the Middle East. Hence no terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11.
They know that if we unite as we were shortly after 9/11 then they are doomed to failure.

Bad , read the stories from our G.I's in the middle of it. Not from the guys in the green zone. They are coming back without legs destroyed mentally by what they have seen and say we the US have no business there. Google Vets against the Iraq war. Plenty of vid clips and stories from the guys there. Not some Neocon fox news fantasy news program. But on the bright side it isn't half as bad as it is going to be when the neocons bomb Iran.

There have been hundreds of reporters embedded alongside US troops since the beginning of the war but they have turned out very little stories or have had many stories published. The reason is because the war is not going very poorly and the people of Iraq are benfitting from it and the liberal bias media refuses to publish stories except the few that have a negative skew on the war.
How could so many reporters have so little to say, good or bad, unless they were being censored by their publishers?

It's going fine,Without the liberal spin you would realize that 99% of Iraqis are on our side.If the United States was in that close of a proximity to Iran and Syria we would have just as much violence as Iraq is having right now.We won the war in Iraq , now it's time to invade Iran and next Syria if they don't bow out of this terrorism in Iraq.

I don't think it's bad, but it's also not good.
First, it's not a war, if it was we'd be collecting all weapons and arresting anyone with a weapon.
It's a policing action.
Congress never declared a state of war.
If this was a war, WE would run the government and own the oil and stay there for 40 years.

The war is not going as bad as the news media reports. You need to take careful note as to the difference in reports that the 'embedded' reporters make versus those reports of the network drones who never leave the hotel.
The embeds are reporting on things they see - and the drones are simply reading scripts written at network headquarters.

Why do you think it's going badly?? I suspect you get your information from the left wing nightly news. Try a few other sources before you jump to conclusions. I have made it a point to talk to returning vets about their service, what they did over there, and what they saw. The latest political posturing to undermine our troops only proves how cowardly the liberal democrat party is.

I think the biggest problems are around Anbar provence and in the city limits of Baghdad. I don't think things are going as bad as the democrats say but I don't think theyare going as well as Bush says either!

the war is going badly....VERY badly.
people are getting killed, and its all because of buttholes who think using force will stop the violence. And sadly, its also because of different groups who hate eachother, and they dont want rest until they exterminate the other side. and since many emigrate to other countries, the hatred lives on, and they'll want revenge.
I see no end to this.
