I want to put vhs movies on my computer and in a windows media format. How do i do this. Thanks. P.S. do i need a vhs player?

all you need is a video capture device so you can route the signal from the output on the vcr to the input on the video capture device. they used to be expensive but aren't now... see links for some external usb video capture devices....

Nah, just try to jam the cassette into the CD tray!
That is sarcasm!
Yes you need a video player, you ALSO need either a graphics card that can INPUT video, or a converter to sit in between the player and your computer.
Both are going to cost you money!
