You need to decide who means more to you~your best friend or this guy. Even though she told you to go for him, it's going to put a big strain on your relationships with both of them. It was very big of her to give you the go ahead, but very few mature adults can get through a situation like you're describing without someone getting hurt, and I don't think you're an adult. It's my opinion that one day in the future you'll end up losing both of them if you go after this man.

well since he likes u now start talkin 2 him and git 2 no his personallity cuz if u get 2 no him better and u dont like his personallity u probably will stop likeing him or wait a while until ur bff isnt attached 2 him as much but u cant help who he likes or who u like

and how do u know that your friend is not testing you? may be she wants to see if ur loyal to her and would go for the guy that she liked. I've been through this as well with my ex best friend, and she gave it a go with the guy that i liked, its not his fault that he didnt like me but she was being selfish,so wat if he likes her? doesnt she have to respect me and my feelings and secondly i would never want to see them together cuz my friend knows that it hurts me inside. (unless if you dont care about ur best friend then dont miss the chance).

I am assuming you are a kid. So, I would say forget your friend and go for it. childhood friends are fun, but not forever. Earning the reputation as a heartless backstabbing slutt is much better.

I'm in a similar situation.
I like this guy who doesn't have feelings for me because he is in love with his best friend's girlfriend who is in love with his best friend who is in love with me,but I have no feelings for him because I am still in love with the first guy. Its like we are all running in circles......
