my hamster has like a sneezy cough going on he s been sleeping alot hes not playful the other day he sneezed an blood came out of his nose. i think he has diareah and his head looks a little swollen and he doesnt open his eyes alot hes been eatin and drinkin a little help please

Unfortunately, these symptoms don't sound very well for your hamster. It sounds like he has an upper respiratory infection. The upper respiratory infection has weakened his immune system allowing the normal intestinal bacteria to grow out of control and cause the wet tail. His eyes being closed and little eating and drinking is very typical of a sick hamster. You need to get him to a vet for antibiotics and don't wait another day to do so. Often by the time you see symptoms this severe, there is little you can do. If you have any Pedialyte on hand (an electrolyte solution given to human infants to keep them hydrated) then warm a small amount of it and feed it to you hamster with an eye dropper or syringe. Just give a little at a time.

The trip to the vets will cost $30-$40 and the antibiotics they prescribe can cost between $10-$20.

keep him warm and out of a draft...he needs to go to the vet asap...hope he feels well soon !!
