I have a tattoo on my hip and it wasn't the most painful thing, but I do have a high pain tolerance. A lower stomach tattoo sounds extremely painful! Just thinking about a needle going in and out of the skin on my stomach makes me cringe! I guess it really depends on how much you want the tattoo. If it means a lot you, the pain shouldn't matter.

I did it not that long ago. It's a tribal elephant in that area.
It hurts just as much as any other tattoo you'd get, kinda like a sunburn that is being poked at over & over.
The lining is always harder to take but once that's over it's a breeze.
Everyone has diferent levels of pain so only you know how well you'll deal with it.
Don't not get the tattoo because you're afraid of what it may feel like, remember the pain is only gonna last a short time, but the artwork will be you reward everyday after....well worth it!

they hurt! no jokes, no lies. depending on the artist, they can be bearable or painful. on a big piece they'll move around because of color and bleeding etc. but gawd the outline is the worst if i remember correctly. anything filled in solid with color is just a major piece of ground round with ink and regenerative or healing capabilities.
if you want 1, think long and hard, then go for it, ive got about 3 only 1 was intended, the other 2 are from a pencil and a dirty guitar string that broke and stuck me.

I got a tat on my hip/stomach. Just to let you know, I am a HUGE baby when it comes to pain and needles. I took my best friend with me and I PROMISE it didn't hurt that bad. When he got close to muscle or bone, it stung a little but nothing awful. Most of the time it just tickled. I thought it would be horrible but it wasn't bad at all. Good luck!

I just got one this fall and it wasn't that bad it just feels like a bunch of quick small bug bites, and after a little while you kinda go numb. Just make sure you know the place your going and that they are very clean other wise it can hurt really bad latter on.

Kellbell - she wants to know how MUCH it will hurt.
And I dont no, but I say don't worry about it. It will be there for the rest of your life, and you might regret it if you settle for a less painfull place.

Mine hurt quite a bit but I was able to concentrate on my breathing and it ended up not being so bad. I was so happy that I went thru with it!
