Assuming you mean Sunday, February 18, 2007. Yes, today is the first day in the Chinese New Year. I don't know how many days are in the cycle, but it is a different day each year.

No. For the year of golden pig
17th Feb 2007 - New Year Eve, when the family is having reunion dinner.
18th Feb 2007 - 1st day of CNY (chinese new year) - when everyone is wearing new clothings and shoes, they would go visit the other elderly relatives to offer best wishes, bring some oranges and goodies, they may in return received red packets.
19th Feb 2007 - today you mentioned - 2nd day of CNY -when the daughter in-laws and her husbands are going back to visit the parents...
20th Feb..... some chinese may celebrate 4 up to 15 days.

of path. My family individuals spent many hours making waiting for this. we are chinese language We dangle up a majority of those pink banners wearing the chinese language image for "success". My grandparents take incense sticks and nutrition (on pink plates) as selections to the gods and pray. regrettably, that's not my birthday.
