Go on line to moms groups, that's how I found home-school moms, a group where moms and their children get together, kids play while moms discuss homeschooling. Help, and support each other, we even take field trips

call the local rec center, ymca, or churches and see if you can start a mommy and me group. I am sure their are other mothers who would love to have that. Go to some pre-k's and ask the staff if they know of any stay at home mom's that you could meet. Even the pediatrician can give you some advice. Join your local freecycle group online and post a message looking for stay at home mom's to form a group...I am sure someone will reply.

Here's a website for an international moms club (I'm in my local chapter and it's great) - http://www.momsclub.org/ - look online to see if there's one in your area (or if you are ambitious, they will help you start one in the area). Check your local paper for moms club ads or events for young children. Also, a great way to meet other moms is to attend storytime at your local library or bookstore. Other options are parks, toddler classes (YMCA, Gymboree), or local children's museums. Oh - I've also seen people looking for playgroups on craigslist.org

Check with your local hospitals that have obstetrical floors. They may be able to point you to play groups, support groups, etc..Check with local daycares also that may have play grps. Another thought is that many high schools have Child Development programs that need children to participate. This way your child has other children to play with, teenagers to play with and supervision of a certified instructor. Good luck!
