Why do kids like to hide? What is the reason for this? How come they like being in enclosed spaces like dens or treehouses or kid's tents??

It's psychological. In a small, enclosed space the child knows every inch of their surroundings and cannot be suprised by anyone/anything. It makes them feel really safe. It is also compared to the womb which the child always unconciously wants to return to.

Why Do Children Hide

It reminds them of the womb, they feel safe, and they know (or at least hope) you're going to wonder where they are and come after them. This lets them know they are important to you, which fills our need to be needed and wanted. Remember Hide and Seek, as a kid, no one ever wanted to be the seeker, but they always wanted to hide, as it's nicer to be wanted than to have people trying to keep away from you. This is also why people like to be chased in tag rather than to be the one doing the chasing.

You can't get a mothers opion for actions that kids do.
I think everyone has an inside and an outside, what they truely feel and what they show.
I like to hide in hard to reach places because I know I won't be botherd. It gives me a safe feeling because I know mom isn't going to come and do anything to me. I like to hide in places because I can feel safe and know that no one isn't going to come to bother me.
Whatever it is, being botherd and feeling scared is the last thing I want.
