Motrin can be rough on a little tummy, especially if he is feeling sick already. You can give him Tylenol instead, but they also have a pain-relief suppository available at any pharmacy, which is great to give when your child has a stomach virus and can't tolerate Ibuprofen (Motrin) or Tylenol. Good luck - hope he feels better soon!

I would not give him another dose because I think that after half an hour it would already be in his system. Or at least the majority of it. Then it would be tricky to figure out how much to give. I would wait and see if any fever goes down if it does then the medicine is working and he doesnt need more right now. If not and the fever stays up then give a half dose. but make sure you wait the full time before giving him more.

I wouldnt suggest giving him another dose. Medicines like that work once they are absorbed into the body... in 30 minutes it could very well have left the digestive system. This means theres a good chance that he didnt throw up the medicine. Giving him more would be the same as exceeding the suggested dosage. If he were 12 or older It would be different, but at 2, he's not necessarily equipped for an O.D.

I would not give another dose of Motrin.. but if you have tylenol you can. Just make sure you alternate them. Motrin every 6-8 hours and Tylenol every 4-6 hours. Call your pedritrician they can confirm this. Hope they get better soon.

I would not do that at all. It only takes 30 minutes for a pill to dissolve and start to get into your blood so don't you think liquid is faster? You need to take him to the doctor, that is what i done with my son after i had given him motrin and he threw up about 10 minutes later and they gave him tylenol at the hospital.

Talk to your doctor and if you cannot get hold of him call your nearest hospital or call a twenty four hour pharmacy and talk to the pharmisist. Check the child's temp also. But don't do anything until you check with a medical person

Call the doctor ASAP - not everyone can handle Motrin and you need to get a replacement ASAP.

No, after 30 minutes it had probably already gone into his system. Just wait a little while longer and see how he does
