Yeah, I agree with someone who posted above me. I like teachers who give respect to the students. I also like teachers with a sense of humor. The teacher should be interested in what they're teaching. My spanish teacher is VERY dedicated. That's what makes me like him. He made his very own website (www.theulat.com) !!! I hope I was useful. I'm a sophmore in High School.
Also, I don't like teachers that don't make you work. I know it's fun for a while, but trust me, the students get tired of not doing work. My band teacher does that, and it's really bad. None of the students like him very much. He also tries too hard to please the students. Try not to do that.

Personality, mostly. It's the same as adults having an aversion to each other, I suppose. But, of course, many teachers have a different personality in class than in person away from school. If you are a teacher, realize that there are also a lot of kids who may not like you because they just don't want to work..if you are a student realize that you should be carefull not to be a jackarse, teachers do have feelings, and be carefull not to harbor a crush on your teachers- there are better ways to get on t.v.

when the teachers don't really teach. my english teacher tells bad puns for the whole period everyday and just once in a while tells us to do exercises in a book, but he doesn't even talk about them or help us in the book.
also, if they're super boring and all they care about is teach teach teach. sometimes teachers just keep talking and talking, and nobody's even paying attention. and then they hold you back when the bell for the next class has already rung, and want to keep talking about the lesson, or whatever.
people also dislike teachers that choose teachers pets, or have suckups.

Depending on what grade you are teaching. I'm a junior in highschool and I hate it when my teachers treat me like a child. We deserve some respect too, sure not as much as a person in authority but some. Don't be overly strict either, I have one teacher who lowers your grade if you don't circle you grade in green.

Definately depends on age group. I always appreciated a teacher with a real sense of passion who knew what they were talking about. As far as female teachers go, in high school and college, if they were hot didn't matter, coulda been a total b*tch i loved her class.

Whether or not the teacher can relate their field/subject/whatever to my life and circumstances. I.e., come to my level and see things through my eyes.
