NASCAR Playing favorites! The same folks who were busting competitors for infractions will not even follow their own rules!!! I have no beef with Harvick. Nascar rules dictate that the field be frozen when the caution comes out. Mark was clearly ahead of Harvick when the cars behind them were wrecking! I do not mean they were just spinning out. They were crashing and crunching cars. It used to be that they raced back to a caution. Nascar is the one who changed that, supposedly for safety reasons. Nascar clearly plays favorites. It's disgusting to see them so flagrantly ignore, change, or suspend their OWN rules when it suits them. Nascar has gotten too big for their britches. It's all about money now, not the fans!

Harvick was in the process of passing Martin. NASCAR officials did the right thing by allowing them to finish their race.

If they WERE playing favorites, Martin would have been handed the win under caution, he was the sentimental favorite. Boyer sure had a wild ride.

Let's see if the same thing happens later in the season if officials stay consistent.

He wasn't robbed, the caution comes out when they decide to call a caution, not the exact second a wreck starts.

The 01 was ahead of the 29 for a few brief periods between the start of the wreck and the finish line, but the 29 was ahead for most of it. The results were reviewed against when they officially threw out a caution and the thought was probably to allow the cars to get to the finish line because it was the final turn that the wreck happened in and on the last lap, so throwing a caution wouldn't have made it any safer since the cars would be slowing after the finish anyways.

Harvick had a faster car, and a run on the 01, the decision was the fairest and best for the fans and drivers.

Sure it would have been nice to see Martin win but NASCAR knew they couldn't give it to him unless he beat Harvick to the line because then it would really look like they jobbed Harvick who made a great move and got some help.

Typically, when the wreck occurs that close to the end, it seems that NASCAR waits for the leader to cross the finish line before throwing the caution(Indy last year), the caution did not come out until Harvick and Martin crossed the finish line
And NASCAR probably would've LOVED it if Martin won, its just that Harvick had a huge run and he would not be denied.
NASCAR is not at fault in this case, caution was not out, no rules were ignored, and to deny Harvick after that huge run he had at the end, that would not be easy, even though Martin is the fan favorite.

I agree..they only let Harvick win win cuz he was Kevin Harvick..If it would ahve been ne one else Mark woulda won..Thats why I dont like Harvick...he is a cheater and know Nascar will go right along with it.They said that if there was a caution, which there clearly should have been, whoever was in front would win which was Mark Martin.I think its bull.Nascar changes the rules and thats not cool..Mark should won 100%!!

It the nascar rule book. It says that when an accident happens the field is froze and there is no racing back to the flag this also is the case on the last lap. Nascar needs to throw the rules they have sent. The fine ever one else for cheating but let they cheat them selfs. Nascar favorite some people. like Jeff Gordon. I"m sick of it. If nascar cant get there **** together then i dont care if i watch another races. I"m sick of them letting Gordon and others get away with stuff but fining ever one else. we the fans need to let nascar how we feel because its getting out of hand.

Are you kidding? That is racing, the wreck were happening in back of them. If you feel that way then alot of other people would have won races that didn't. Do you Not remember just a few short years ago of how Kevin stayed in trouble with Nascar? They sorta picked him apart at times. Kevin is not my Favorite Driver but he did Win the Race FAIR. It was a Coool Finish!
Nascar picking favorites has Nothing to do with this. If anything think how Rusty Wallace must feel (even though he no longer races), he had the Exact thing happen to him that Jeff Gordon. The thing Nascar took alot from Rusty, but Jeffy only got put to the rear?????
Look it up, you'll see what I mean.

After watching the replay, when the caution came out, Kevin Harvick was in front of Sir Mark Martin when Kyle Busch went spinning around in circles.

I did like that crash though at the end of the race when most of the field went spinning around and hitting the wall. I was good though that everyone was ok.

NASCAR wanted to see the race finished no one likes to see it end early. But I will say there should have been a caution since the guy had an engine fire and harvik and martin are still going.

he wasn't. NASCAR made the right call. a race should never end under caution, especially the daytona 500, they should ALWAYS race to the checkered flag. the wreck was BEHIND the leaders, so why throw a caution? and for anyone here to suggest NASCAR showed favoritism toward harvick is idiotic. if they were going to play favorites, they would have favored martin, the overwhelming sentimental favorite.

I don't know about Martin being robbed but Nascar needs to be consistent in what they do and they never are. If the caution had come out it would have been decided by scoring loops and video evidence. It would have mattered when it came out and then this discussion would have been about when it came out. It certainly should have come out regardless of who won before they crossed the line. For crying out loud the 07 was on his roof and they waited until they crossed the line for the yellow, then again you can't make Nascar out of consistent, they don't go together either. I would have loved to see Martin win, in a Chevy, but regardless they yellow should have come out before they crossed the line.
