Not always. As someone who suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, with depression, and anxiety...I can tell you that even the best of all professionals are STILL LEARNING. They are discovering more and more about the connection between...you're down mentally, this drags down your body's immunities, and in turn makes you physically ill. When you're depressed, it's one way or the other--either you sleep far too much or you're totally an insomniac. If you don't get enough rest, your body gets torn down and sick. Does depression recur? How depressing is it that your body has fallen apart in the meantime?! What got you depressed in the 1st place? Are you weak or strong? Did you fall down over a divorce? Or did you come back from suicide, war, murder, terrorism,? Did you try to tough it out? I can tell you that answer.....it will recur over and over and over until it's DEALT with FOR REAL! Yes, that does mean maintaining a safe and steady serotonin level in your brain. Most of all......it means admitting every human emotion you have to feel even if it's 20 yrs. later. Besides, I could have just said yes, stats say most people get depressed again at some point in their lives or as you said, on a recurring basis.

Yes, often, so it is wise to be prepared for when it occurs. Make a doctor's appointment immediately, then use your relaxation technique. If it was me, I would have a small amount of my medication stored in the correct way, having previously checked this out, and would resume at the same dosage, and then get a fresh batch and give the old stuff to the drugstore or pharmacy, as some can be donated to third world countries. This should always be done with all used meds, by everyone, as soon as possible, but certain ones need to be taken until completely finished, like antibiotics, to achieve the necessary dosage.
