Home made is nice, but unless you've got nothing better to do, then you have to make the effort. Althought I work in a shop and my main job is to make chocolate and other sweet things, we also make small treats like scrolls and things.
Though I mostly deal with the unhealthy aspects. Lol.
Because I live in Australia (and unless you do too) I'm not sure what kinds you'd have compared to ours.
I usually buy a Tip Top one called Up, with Omega 3 in it. But I also had some nice thick toast in the hospital the other day. It was nice, but by the time it got to me it was cold and hard to chew.
If you want really nice, fresh bread, go to a small town bakery where they make everything fresh. Forget about brand name things. Actual fresh bread with a chewy crust is awesome.

Warburtons Toastie, because the slices are nice and thick and they are consistently sized all the way through, none of these doorsteps followed by skinny slices

Country Kitchen is hearty and will fill you up good.
wonder is really squishy and easily tears when you spread something like peanut butter on it, and can start to smell fermented after a couple days.
