im not a religious guy whatsoever but my recruiter that i am about to have enlist me in the Marines decide it was right to take me to church with his wife and him. he feels that i need to find some faith in god before i leave for basic training. he was realy surprised when i told him that im not religoius not atheist not realy anything. Its a Catholic Church that i went to him with. well when we were there he told me that if i decided to become part of that church that id need someone to represent me and that it would be his job to. So a couple Questions
Y would i need someone to represent me?
Y would he be surpised that i didnt go to church?
Y would he ask me to come with him to church because thats not his job?
Why would he think i needed go before i went to basic traning?

well who knows he might just be a good guy and did he make you go i have a feeling you chose to go yourself. im not one that has went to church very often but i have gone when certain people have. im guessing you trust the guy and you look at him as a mentor or something

I guess he is feeling guilty for lying to you and not telling you he is sending you into a meat grinder. But I I think your very confused or he is lying about the church you dont need someone to represent you to join the Catholic church that is an outright lie
Remember who you are talking too recruiters are recrutiers because there good at lying all you are to him is a bag of meat or a statistic.
You had better get some advice from other people and find out what your getting into. Read and find out ALL the sides and WHY we are at WAR if you dont know what is Going on if your just joining for the money or for college or beacuse you dont know what to do with yourself they are the wrong reasons for dying.

As an ex-army atheist I find that a little weird. I've looked it up and there is actually a higher percentage of atheists in the military which frankly did surprise me. There are a lot of very religious in the military, and a lot that just don't care about it one way or the other.
The recruiter is taking a huge gamble by introducing religion in before you have signed. You might be turned off. I would have been. I wouldn't worry about it much. You will never see the guy again after you leave.

If any recruiter swears and promises that you will NOT be deployed abroad - then they LIED!! They have absolutely no control over where you are sent.

He feels convicted and knows you may go in to a dangourus situation and doesn't want you to die without meeting Jesus. I'm not Catholic (I'm a Baptist) but I understand where he is coming from. It won't hurt you to go to church.
