Everytime I try to use Internet Explorer, it only takes a couple minutes before a box pops up and says that Windows has had a problem and needs to shut down. Also it wont let me download anything. HELP PLEASE!!

You really need to provide some additional information. What version of Internet Explorer are you running? How old is the computer? How long has it been doing this? Does your Windows XP have Service Pack 2? Have you made any changes to your hardware or software (new devices, programs, or updates)? Have you tried running full virus and spyware scans?

Sounds like explorer is damaged you need to have a xp cd to do this start -run in the run box type sfc /scannow it will ask you for the cd if needed

try to get a free trial of a full security suite like Kaspersky or something, but since you can't download. It seems as if you're computer is overrun by spyware/viruses.

What you are describing are symptoms of a corrupt operating system. You need a fresh installation of windows. This will reslove the problem.

My computer did the same thing, and I found that I had a virus, so now I use Firefox, after reinstalling windows.

reinstall internet explorer.
a good idea would be to get morzilla (download it at a friends or different comp. use a usb flash drive to trasnfer the installation file to your comp then install)
hopefully it'll work.

Do not use I E dump it use Firefox.
Remember friends don't let friends use I E

Try out that browser :-).

If it works I would reinstall Windows and use Firefox
