The New American Standard Bible
Book of Hosea
Chapter 13 - :15 - Though he flourishes among the reeds, An east wind will come, The wind of the LORD coming up from the wilderness; And his fountain will become dry And his spring will be dried up; It will plunder his treasury of every precious article.
13:16 -
Samaria will be held guilty, For she has rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword, Their little ones will be dashed in pieces, And their pregnant women will be ripped open.

Technically NO, I have not. At best know where I have put my bible on the shelf in the house, but I do not memorize it. Jesus gave us only 2 commandments to live by, I do not care for the historical foundation of Jesus's family tree or historical stories of a people I'll never be a part of. I try my best to live by these 2 commandments, and fail often.
Well if you give the question the full 3 days - I'll guess 22.

It is a prophecy of what will be.
16. This verse and Ho 13:15 foretell the calamities about to befall Israel before her restoration (Ho 13:14), owing to her impenitence.
Hosea 13 (KJV)
15Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
16Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

Your point being?
Those were the facts, that's what happened. Actually it was a rather common occurrence and happened numerous times in the Bible. Once the prophet Elisha broke down and started crying in the presence of Hazael, because he knew he would do this very thing to his fellow Israelites. (II Kings 8:11-13)

I will check it out. I don't spend a lot of time in the OT. I a sure there is a reason for this. Maybe it will be obvious, or maybe only the Lord knows.

After the trials, Israel will seek Yahweh who will allow himself to be found. Humanity's reconciliation with God will be an authentic marriage and it will be by a reconciliation of humanity with nature.
Peace and every blessing!

no need, i have no idea where your getting at with stateing this scripture.
Its meaning is that of a warning to the Israelites, to stop their ways of sin and greed. God's justice is swift and sometimes merciless. He is a God of love and compassion but he is also Holy, and his justice is true. He is worthy of our praise but also worthy of our fear.
So i ask what were you trying to prove with stateing this scripture? that God's justice is sometimes merciless? we already knew that but thanks for the reminder.

this was part of the prophesies of hosea-it concerns the consequences of israel's turning from God to idol worship, ignoring His commandments...as israel turned from God, his protection was withdrawn...and their enemies would be free to do with israel as they wished...part of hosea that seems to be missing from your question is any mention of how God promised to restore His special relationship with israel if they would repent and turn back to Him...
