Why can't people try to get a little bit of understanding about Islam before they threaten it or mock it? The word Islam means "peace and safety" in Arabic. Yes, many of the leaders in the Middle East have forgotten about what it is to be a true Muslim, but that does not reflect upon the rest of us of the Islamic faith. I, for one, happen to stand firmly against the actions of the Al-Qaeda and Shi'a regimes.

Alaikum As-Salaam...people are stupid. In short, thats what it is. Most of the people that make ethnocentric, racist comments about Islam have no understanding of the religion much less the culture. All you can do is be the best example of Islam and Muslim life that you can be. As long as you are right with your beliefs tell everyone else to dig a hole. Do not let the ignorance and stupidity of others become your problem.

Islam is like any other belief - it has both good people and bad people as followers. I wish I could give you an answer, but I don't understand why so many people are ignorant and hate an entire religion and its worshipers because of the terrible actions of a few.
The best explanation I can think of is they are uneducated and are too biased to behave rationally.

I'm glad that you renounce Al-Qaeda. If more Muslims had the guts to stand up against extremists, Muslims would be much more respected. Peace unto you.

Like all religions, Islam is used to control people. While the overall religion is peaceful, there are several obscure passages promoting war which are used by leaders to get people to do things like blow themselves up.

well, i think ppl who mock around here are either teenagers or ignorants ...Mocking and Insulting people wheather muslims or not is just a childish act ....again i'll say people who do so are uncivilised ... i dont care whatever religion they are and whatever country they come from but they proved themselves to be so ignorant uncivilised or maybe shallow enough to be fooled by their own press so... dont think that what you hear on Y!A is the majority of christian or jews or even europeans, americans around the world ...the site is mostly used by kids and teenagers

Perhaps people really DO understand the true nature of islam...which is violence, hatred and intolerance (ACTIONS speak a lot louder than WORDS).
Perhaps what you want is for people to blindly ignore the reality of islam and accept a flimsy definition.

many do realise ... please dont think that everyone believes that all Muslims are terrorists
