I'm 21 and no its not my imagination. I clog up the bathroom drain with the amount of hair that comes out. I can run my hands through my hair and find hair in my hand.

Diet, rest, exercise, and lots of water will always help, as will a good multivitamin, preferrably with some Biotin. GNC women's ultra mega is great. Also, a supplement at Wal-Mart, which is simply called Hair is cheap and very good in addition to your multivitamin. Nioxin is a great treatment system for hair loss. However, you will need to start using it NOW because it does take a while for it to start working. The kits can be purchased in your salon, and it's usually a three-step system. Ask your stylist for it. Keep in mind too that hair loss of up to 100 strands a day is normal. If it's breakage caused by chemical treatments, try getting a good conditioning treatment from your stylist and use only professional products at home.

need more information. how old are you and are you on any medications? stress sounds a little far fetched though I have heard of it happening. if hair fell out from stress I'd have been bald as a light bulb twenty years ago. could you be exaggerating just a little? maybe an over active imagination? if not there must be a physiological or physiological cause. look for something you changed recently like the kind of wash powder you use or the kind of soap you use or the kind of shampoo you use or a change in your diet or some other change. if you can't come up with a good reason go to a doctor.

If you dye your hair too often that can cause this problem. Get a softer brush if you don't have one. Hairspray will dry out your hair because of the alcohol. I'm not sure if this would lead to falling out, but it could be a factor. If you use them, ease up on heat styling products such as curling irons. Pony-tail holders will also break your hair if you use them too often and too tight. I also know that you can condition your hair too much, so be carefull with that. It will make your hair look like you have spit ends, but really it's just "blown up" from all the conditioning. I'm not an expert, but these are tips I've picked up from hair stylists and others over time. Hope it helps.

If you are in your 40's this is common and hormonal. Rogaine for women works for hair loss, but it has to be applied every day and is expensive. Don't ignore the problem..get to a dermatologist right away. It can be caused by more serious health issues.

I had an anorexic friend and since she didnt get enought protein, iron, vitamins, ect (which your hair needs!) it started to fall out ALOT! So i suggest, EAT YOUR VITAMENS AND MEAT, lol and pray that it stops. Also my friend has a Vegan Aunt and since she doesnt eat meat shes bald and acually wears a wig. Your hair needs it's protein and iron =) which can be supplied from meat...
