well it helps if you went through with track from highschool to college. but other than that ya gotta be damn good. find some talent scouts from different sponsors. well good luck

Running is a bit harder to do professionally than other sports. You have to be pretty dominant in your event. Sign up for some big city races where the prize money is good. If you win a few of these, you'll get some prize money and some likely sponsorship offers. You may also get some local interest from running stores to run on a sponsored team. No paycheck...but free gear! Good luck!

Here are a few things, remember you have to do all of these not necessarily in this order but they have to be done, not much to it.
Be top 8 in the World rankings, get a shoe company endorsement/sponsor,get invited to Grand Prix meets in Europe, invitational meets/events in US and Canada, , keep getting better, make the olympic team and win a medal preferably gold

Do it in competitions and win. Eventually get a sponsor and try to go pro.
