I'm 5'6" and she's 6'1". What could have caused her to grow so much taller than me? This bugs me because I thought all twins were the same size. But what the heck happened? She acts sorta dominant over me now and I have to put up with it. Has anyone ever heard of other cases in which one twin is taller than the other? We're 15 now and I'm wondering if she will grow even taller.....

Twins are not always the same. It's in the genes. Or the way you treat yourself. Do you drink coffee from a young age? Or do drugs.... Not saying that you do drugs. But those 2 things can stunt growth. n

Yes, I have two twin boys at my school and one is taller than the other. But they trade off. One day one is taller than the next the other is taller. You both are twins but are different in your own ways. You will grow just not as fast as her. Heck one day you might be taller than her. And for a sister to act that way is really ridiculous. She shouldn't act that way because her personality reflects against her attitude and one day she'll need you or someone to be there but they'll diss her because of the way she acts. Don't worry what comes around goes around. You'll grow taller and hopefully your sister will grow out of the way she treats you. I hope I helped you just a little. Good Luck with how everything works out.

Although twins are expected to remain same but some can vary greatly. They can even have different face as time pass on, different height, etc. Your twin sister might have different genes than that of you so that is why she might be taller.
Personally, My dad has a twin brother. Both have pretty similar face but my dad is slim while the twin brother is a bit over weight. My dad's height is 5'8" while his twin brother's height is 6'.
So as I have stated earlier even twin brothers or sisters can vary.
Hope I helped! =)

While she may be only 15 and 6'1" now, she'll grown another 1 to 3 inches before she's done. You might grown another 1-3 inches and when it comes to finding lots of guys wanting to date guess what happens then? You will get more guys than she will cause taller girls dont attract many guys. so actually you are just perfect.

It sounds as if you're fraternal twins rather than identical. Identical twins come from one fertilized egg that developes into two babies, so the children are the same sex and are identical. Fraternal twins are born when two separate eggs become fertilized. The babies can both be the same sex or can be one male and one female and are no more likely to look alike than brothers and sisters born at separate birthings.

Growing stops for girls betweent he ages if 16-17 years of age. Growing for boys stops at 18-20 years of age.So, since u are both 15 years old your sister should stop growing some where between the next 2 years. But, you still have untill age 20 to complete your growth period to adult size.
Good nutrition and calcium very important during the adolescence period, promotes healthy bones.

There are identical twins, that share the same genotype and would therefore be the same height, that result from one fertilized egg dividing and forming two embryos.

What you are is a fraternal twin--there were two separate eggs, fertilized by two separate sperm. So you have higher variance in your genotypes, and the different genetic combinations have ended up with her getting the tall genes and you getting the respectable, but not quite so tall, height genes.

Plus she is still gonna grow, by the way im 5'6 too. the docs said her hormones just really kicked in. And coffee has nothing to do with the growth, thats a stupid myth.

i'm 5'6" and that i admire my height. this is superb to be able to positioned on what ever heel length you like without looking too tall. My advice is to be happy with ways tall you're! don't be concerned approximately how tall your sister is!
