You make a photograph on regular photo paper. You then develop that paper like and other exposed paper. 1 Mix the photo developer, stop bath and fixer as per the instructions on the chemical bottles. Photo chemicals come in both a liquid-concentrated version and a powder version. Both need to be mixed with water at a certain temperature and ratio for them to work correctly. 2 Place the exposed photo paper into the developer bath. Depending on the type of paper you are using, either fiber-based or resin-coated, the time needed for development will vary. Consult the box the paper came in for a guideline of times. 3 Remove the paper from the developer bath using tongs and place it into a stop bath. This is a short sequence only requiring 10 to 15 seconds. 4 Remove the paper from the stop bath and place the photo into the fixer bath. The photo will stay in this bath for five minutes. After the five minutes, remove the photo and place into a clean water rinse. Leave the photo in the clean water rinse for 10 to 15 minutes 5Hang the photo using a photo clip or place the photo into a photo dryer. Once the photo is dry you can inspect your work. You then place it on top of another piece of photographic paper and expose it to light. Develop that and repeat with shorter or longer exposure to get the best picture.

At any photo supply store. They sell all kinds of cameras, lenses and dark room supplies plus the paper.

I would know. I purchase it for my dad who has his own darkroom. He is a professional photographer. I don't have to pay for it, I just run errands for him and help him in the darkroom, processing the film and developing it, I use the enlarger and make prints in the trays.

You will need tongs and an enlarger too. Clothes pins and a clothes line string to hang up the developed film. You'll need to seal all cracks around the door and any windows, to keep any light at all from comming in. Also make a DO NOT ENTER sign for the door, to hang on the door knob. If you were to have the box of paper open and someone were to open that door, it WILL ruin ALL the paper in the box, The slightest bit of light(except the red bulb, will expose all the paper, making it unusable. It will out come out solid black.

You'll need a red light bulb.

Good luck. It's fun and quite easy! I've been doing this for 20 years.

Go to WOLF camera. They have everything you need. I'm pretty sure there is one in LA.

any camera store. Not like best buy or somewhere that just sells cameras, but there are many different locally owned camera stores.
