My ex broke up with me for lots of reason. He said he didn't feel like being in a relationship, he didn't want to end up in a loveless relationship, and he had a secret that I would find silly but is big to him. He said we would still be friends though. Later he told me he didn't like how I talked about the future(Umm, hes the one who asked me to take his last name), he didn't love me at all, and he never wants to be with me again. But somtimes I'll look in his direction and notice him looking at me. He avoids talking to me or looking at me even when I smile or wave to him in the hall. When were hanging out with mutual friends he stil dosn't talk to me and if he says somthing funny and I laugh he just looks at me weird. It's really kinda annoying and I want him to be my friend but I'm having a hard time talking to him when he won't talk to me. I wouldn't normally care but I see him so often its strange for us not to be friends. How should I deal with this and why is he being like this?

Could be a number of reasons he's doing this:
-he's afraid you still having feelings for him so he's trying to be cold so he doesn't lead you on
-he knows he's not ready for the things you guys talked about, but still thinks your cute, which is why you catch him looking at you, but ignoring you too
-you think he's looking at you... but your so busy trying to catch him looking at you that HE actually thinks YOU are the one looking at HIM!
-he's playing games with you and wants you to lead you on
-he feels awkard about what's happened and doesn't know how to act around you too.
it may be something else to...
what i would do?
don't try to catch him looking at you... just relax and make sure you're acting the same with him as you are with everyone else. Try to let him know your over him (and if your not, get over him.. cause there are plenty of fish in the sea!!! and it sounds like your still pretty young! don't spend your days thinking about what could have been... move on and look forward to what will be!!!). If, after a while, he still is acting weird, confront him privately. Tell him that your over him and you thought he said you would both stay friends. Let him know about what he's doing that isn't very friendly, so that he can fix it!
good luck!

It sounds like it was someone else that talked him out of the relationship and he feels some sort of guilt. Unfortunately, if he isn't willing to talk to you, there isn't much you can do. Ignore him for a little bit, see if he will come around to talking to you. Or just blatently ask him what the deal is. Say he is either your friend or he isn't.

Being like what? Human? He has told you that he doesn't want a relationship with you...I suggest you deal with that. He doesn't mind being friends...again either deal with it or move on. The two of you had a relationship, that is why he looks at you, it could be that he is trying to figure out WHY he was in a relationship wit you. or what it was about the realtionship that kept him in it. Stop asking why he is like this...when you are the one who isn't facing the truth.

i think of he remains into you, a minimum of slightly. possibly, he's harm, and tries to place you down via calling you a slag to get lower back at you. he's possibly jealous of the different guy or woman that's why he's badmouthing him.

He probably wants sex and that's it. If that isn't what you want, let it go. You'll find someone who thinks more like you do.
