When I had my tonsils out a long time ago, I would make spaghetti, put in lots of extra sauce, then throw it in the blender. It made a nice change from all the obvious stuff that I had been eating like soup, baby food, and ice cream.

Tonsils at the instant are not lymph nodes yet they are lymphoid tissue. Yoghurt.Ice cream. Soups.Juices. Anything that has been processed with a blender such as carrots, onions, broccoli, eggplants, broccolini, squash, pumpkin and then you lightly boil. Some vegetables dont need to be cooked. Try for the first few days things that are cold. Sometimes hot things upset and cause a little bleeding in the beginning.

My 6 year old daughter just had hers out at the end of December. She lived on lots of ice cold water, runny mashed potatoes (allow them to cool), jello pudding pops, yogurt, and puddings. She would not eat jello, and the docs said not to drink or eat milk products. We cheated a little with the pudding and pudding pops. They say also to stay away from red dyed items. Might mistake it for blood. She was mad because she loves red Popsicles and jello. Would not eat any other jello, she is weird like that. Good luck!

Diet
• Drink cool liquids to soothe your throat.
Take large swallows instead of small
ones. Large swallows will be less
painful for your throat.
• Drink at least eight glasses of fluids.
• Eat soft foods such as pureed vegetables,
gelatin, pudding, ice cream, cottage
cheese, eggs cooked soft, mashed
potatoes and cooked oatmeal.
• Gradually add other foods to your diet, as
long as it does not hurt to swallow them.
• Avoid hot, spicy foods, citrus juices and
foods that feel scratchy to the throat like
raw vegetables, chips, crackers and toast.

you will be able to eat anything you can chew to a soft consistency the next day. might want to avoid chips for a few days, but that's it.

Follow the doctor's instructions and you will be fine. (It doesn't hurt very much at all, and they will give you something to control the discomfort)

Use a blender. Chop up fruits and vegetables this way. Add apple juice or orange as a natural sweetener. Ice will make it thicker. Yum.
