I told a friend I would watch her 2 kids on top of the 3 kids I already watch. What are some fun things we can do? they range in age from 5 to 2 1/2 (4 girls and 1 boy) (two 5 year olds, a 4 year old and 2 two year olds). They need to be indoor activities as where I live it will be freezing out tomorrow.

Dress up is out as the 2 extra kids don't listen when they play dress up.

They are NOT allowed to have soda and hardly ever have candy.

!st off I am NOT bring them out in 15 to 20 below temps. Are you NUTS. Central NY is nothing like way upstate. the temps are majorly diffrent.

Why would one not let a 2 1/2 year old color with crayons or markers?

The nearest Mcdonalds is about a 45 minute walk away. I will not have a car or enough car seats. so that is out as well. Plus I don't have the money to spend on a lunch out.

We have no YMCA here. Or anything like it.

We are pretty much stuck at the house all day.

YMCA's usually have indoor play centers or even small pools for younger children (and are lifeguarded) and are fairly inexpensive to visit for the day. Or, you could bake something together and have a movie day with lots of blankets and pillows.

My daughter was raised in Central New York where it is ALWAYS freezing but she ALWAYS went outside. Not for long periods of time but kids NEED the fresh air even if it is freezing. You simply have to bundle them up before you go out (don't forget to bundle yourself up) let them play for awhile, show them how to make snow angles or snow people, After about 15 minutes to half hour take them indoors to warm up and they will probably be pretty tired as well. The older ones can color indoors but I wouldn't recommend it for the 2 1/2 year olds. You can build a "tent" out of tables and chairs and sheets/blankets. You can make up silly stories...Play "I spy"

If you have a McDonalds or Burgar king somewhere close why don't you take them out for lunch or something and let them play on the toys (if it has an indoor one). It's gets them out and feeds them. Otherwise put a movie in, color, just play with the 2 yr olds and let the others play on their own. Good luck

Coloring
Building with Legos, Duplos, and Quatros
Read them a story
Let them have some quiet time with some toys
Have a "picnic" inside complete with a blanket on the floor
Watch a movie (Disney movies like Monsters, Inc. or Harry Potter are exciting for ALL ages)
