My boyfriend borrowed $800.00 from me back in August of 2006 and has yet to pay me back. He was in financial problems and needed the money so I let it to him and he and I agreed that he would pay me back before I went on a trip in December. I havent scene the money yet and have asked him several times for the money and he always ignores me or says he doesnt have it or tries to change the subject. He goes to school and gets loans to pay for his rent and bills but doenst have a job and everytime I tell him to get a job he gets mad at me and says I will stop nagging. I work 40 hours a week and thats just getting by. I had to ask my grandparents for money($150.00) in the past because I am so broke. No one knows that I gave him the money.
I am not sure what to do. I have all sorts of credit card bills .He doesn't help with the house work at all. I spend all my Sundays cleaning the house while hes on the computer playing games.
What should I do?

Dump him. Kick his bum to the curb. Cut your losses and move on. What a loser!
The very least he could do is help out around the house since he doesn't work. He's getting a free ride cutorsey of your goodness and hard work. Nothing good will come out of this scenario unless he straightens up. Sounds like he won't, so I guess there's your answer.

I once lent money to a friend around 400 dollars, he was to pay me back with his first pay check and never did after much nagging on my part. I was about to write him off as a friend and tell him what i really thought about him then i thought about it and his friendship to me was not worth ending over 400 dollars, not even a 1000 dollars or any amount. I just took it as a lessoned learned and never brought it up again. This doesnt mean I am okay with what he did, i just love him too much to let it get in the way of having his friendship. I would think about this with your boyfriend, is it worth fighting over and being angry about? Just never give him money again, and this goes without saying he aint husband material. Just enjoy what you have now and take it as a lesson, if you lend out money just assume its never coming back to you.

Make out a bill for the $800.00, then make out a bill for your housekeeping services, cooking, groceries, anything that you have to pay for or provide for him. A verbal agreement about money is legally binding. If he doesn't want to or can't pay you back take him to small claims court. Because it isn't on paper the judge will probably just scold you for fool heartiness in loaning money you can't afford to loan, but it will make him realize you aren't playing. In the mean time tell him get a job or get out, and mean it. Stick to it.

why are you hating yourself so much? you deserve better than this... and come on, he could have at the very least helped you around the house for all that you do for both of you...
