There was a depoist fee to pay but I had not done so cause of the last minute sighn up. I never payed and now they are going to send me to claims. I did not sign anything. What can I do??

you don't say who is teaching the course, ned, so it's hard to say. If it's a school of any integrety and you put a deposit down, and then decided not to take the course, you lose the deposit, but you shouldn't have to pay any more. If it's some private teaching arrangement, then people can arrange any terms they want to. You say you didn't sign anything. Did you pay by credit card? Was it over the web? you may have clicked a box that agreed you would pay more. Sorry, your question is a little unclear. In matters of collection, the issue becomes the cost to the collector to make a recovery, versis the recovery. If they think you owe them $100 they're not going to push very hard. If they think you owe them $10,000, they they'll be calling you a few times, and you may have a problem, or you'll get a ding on your credit report. Good luck.
