is it just me or do you get embaressed an red faced at some of the stuff that christians say?? whenever i hear someone say "just put your faith in jesus and he will show you the way to happiness. god bless i will pray for you" i just get so embarassed for them. and the funniest part is that they truly think that they are being wise for saying such things. ignorance is bliss and they are so caught up in there beleifs that they dont even understand the concept of reality itself. its scary actualy. some of there delusions are stikingly similar to someone with psychosis.
does nybody feel this way??

Whenever i hear someone say "Well, we all come from nothing which turned into something then turned into us..." i just get so embarrassed for them. and the funniest part is that they truly think that they are being wise for saying such things. Ignorance is bliss and they are so caught up in there so called "theories" that they don't even understand the concept of reality itself. It's scary actually. Some of there "theories" are actually being passed off as truth in our school system
(the entire concept of the big bang is based on the fact that the universe is expanding...This was revealed to Prophet Muhammad 1400 years ago(51:47))

There are two situations in particular that embarrass me. I would never laugh at someone, but they are situations when I feel sorry that the person has just totally missed the point of what religions should ideally be teaching.
The first situation is when someone prays for a sick friend or relative, and they get healed, and they give God all the credit for it... completely forgetting the doctors and nurses that worked tirelessly in the hospital to cure them and care for them...
The second situation is one that I've seen a couple times here. Someone will come to this forum acting all upset and bent out of shape, because they've harmed someone else or committed a "sin" that has hurt someone else. The person is upset because they they're afraid that God is mad at them, and they don't know what to do. They don't know how they can possibly face God after what they've done. And as they're ranting on and on and on, I just can't help but think to myself, "They're not even taking into consideration THE PERSON THAT THEY HARMED!!!" It's all God this, God that... how about APOLOGIZING TO THAT PERSON instead of worrying about whether God will forgive you or not? This one just drives me crazy. Again, they're just totally missing the point.

I've known a few in person, and all but one was sincere. I've seen little sincerity here. Most are just trying to exalt themselves to a large audience, and they have all the serenity of a rabid pit bull in a meat locker.

Constantly. I usually just smile and reflect on the superiority of my intelligence. It is less frustrating to attempt a meaningful discussion with a child than your average adult theist.

I just wonder why they believe what they do. How can an adult believe in something that is obviously so made up. I can understand teaching it to kids to keep them on the right track. but to fully believe that their is floating head in the sky that judges us?

Why would I get embarrassed? I'm an atheist. I don't identify with Christians, and what they say does not reflect upon me in any way, so no, I really don't care what they write.
I do, however, despise lousy spelling.

LOL! I have one for ya! My brother was rear-ended this afternoon by a guy that had a license plate that said that god was his co-pilot. He was going 35 mph! god needs to have his license revoked!

As long as they have thought it through, then you have to respect a belief, no matter how silly. (respect, not agree).
It's the ones that haven't I actually feel sorry for, but I try not to laugh. Sometimes I fail.

Yes I know exactly what you mean! My mother does that to me all the time, and I hate it because she makes me feel so guilty when she does it!
