Orbitz is good. The farther in advance you book the cheaper it is. My daughters airfare to Hawaii cost me $320 round trip to honolulu. I booked 48 days in advance.

You can try various websites like travelocity.com, expedia.com, or cheaptickets.com - these websites will give you several flights to choose from, you can select various airports within a certain radius to travel from/to in order to get the best possible rate. Sometimes, however, going directly to the airline's website, like, American for example www.aa.com, you tend to get the lowest possible rate.
