Spaghetti is a complex food. It is not bad for you as it does not have many oils and trans fat. However, it does have a lot of starch and therefore carbs. Spaghetti every night is not good. If you monitor your intake, it will be fine.

It can be very healthy or bad for you depending on the ingredients.

The spaghetti sauce itself is very healthy with lots of tomatoes that give us vitamins and lycopene. Garlic, peppers, herbs seasonings and mushrooms are healthy ingredients you might find in a spaghetti recipe.

It can quickly become un-health if the pasta made from refined white flour and/or if the meatballs have a lot of saturated fat in them.

If you choose your meat and pasta with care, it's very healthy and a good old fashioned stick to the ribs meal.

I hope this has been of help.

Spaghetti itself, in a proper serving size, is fine for you.

Now if you smother it in butter, oil, cheeses, meat sauce, alfredo sauce--and eat 5 times the serving size--your're talking about some serious calories and cholesterol.

No. Not unless you're on a low-carb diet or use a lot of fatty cream sauces.

Pasta by itself isn't, but watch the sauces, many are high in salt fats etc.
