im about to install my cold air intake for my 00 nissan sentra and i do not know what a water exluder looks like or where it is located. can someone help me out?

it is a safety device used to prevent water from being sucking into engine... follow this link look at 04-06 maxima and check engine a intake will be on the page and water bypass valve show at first section of intake 3 pieces http://www.nissanusa.com/nismo/ hope it helped

That would be a drain in the intake filter area.
