If the move fits the requirements to be deductible, then you can deduct the allowable expenses in the year they were paid. See irs Publication 521 for more info on what's deductible.

To claim expenses paid in 2005, you'd have to amend your 2005 return.

You can only claim the expenses paid in 2005 on the 2005 return
You may want to investigate whether it would be worthwhile to amend your 2005 return to claim that

Expenses can only be claimed in the year that they were actually paid.

If you had moving expenses from a move in 2005 that were PAID in 2006, you can claim them on your 2006 return. If they were paid in 2005, you must amend your 2005 return to claim those.
