Yes it's okay, but they can't be registered. Pure bred cats have a lot of health problems anyway. Cross breeds are so much better. I have a lot of 'mutt' cats and they are wonderful. :)

Do you have a female chincilla that you want to mate with a male cat? Or is chinchilla some breed of cat I am not aware of?
In the first case - 2 different species of animals CANNOT mate with one another, and trying to mate a chinchilla with a cat is disgusting.
If I have misunderstood you, and you are just trying to mate 2 cats together, then the answer is yes, they can breed. However, the real question is should you allow them to? There are WAAAY too many cats without homes in shelters already, that get euthanized because there are no homes for them.
So the true gist of my answer is that you SHOULD NOT breed your pets. You should take them to the vet, have them neutered and spayed, and allow them to live long and healthy lives without having them participate in the already problematic pet overpopulation in this country.

I do hope you're joking. A chinchilla isn't a cat.
Besides, don't contribute to overpopulation. If you want kittens, foster some for a shelter. They never grow up, which means they are always cute, and even though you have to give them up, you can pretty much always have a steady flow of adorable kittens for which you don't have to find homes.

Course its ok, but it wont be a thoroughbred, just a pretty fluffy kitten / cat, and make sure you have good homes lined up for offspring, too many unwanted/unloved animals in this world, then get the parents neutered.

if you are a breeder that is supposed to breed purebred cats then i would not do it. and if you don't want more pets to take care of i would do it either.
but if you don't fit any one of this things then I have nothing against it.
