If you believe in reincarnation, then the souls inhabiting humans have also been in animals in the past, or will be in them in the future, so that would mean that they have as much chance of having a connection to the divine as humans do because all the souls came from the same place. Oh and there are some who say that cats came to earth with nothing left to learn so they are like gods themselves :)

The difference between humans and animals is our reasoning ability and our ability to consider the future. Animals are strictly creatures of the moment, hence our fascination for them. Religions are built on thought and involve death and the hereafter. Animals just cannot go there.
I wish it was so with the human race also! .
The closest pets get to religious worship is to adore the one who is holding the kibble bowl.

No. Animals act on basic impulses. Its unknown if they have a conscience, but probably not--and that is the prerequisite for having beliefs, religion, etc.

Animals have a direct connection with God. Animals know way before hand when something is about to happen. Like when the tsunami happened, not one animal died, why? Because the Lord showed them to get to higher ground and they did, if the people would watched the animals not as many would have died. My 2 dogs pray with me every day.

No, God hasn't sent his animal kingdom any Zoological Prophets to warn them about the impending "fire"-doom.

I have 4 cats and 2 dogs. The only thing they seem to worship is me around meal time. So I would say the answer is no.

No, they have too much common sense. Animals don't really think about daft things like that I am sure, they only think about sensible things like where their next meals are coming from.
