So I want to make a really special dinner tonight but I don't want to spend a lot of money buying stuff ffor the recipe, and it has to be fast and delicious. Any suggestions/recipes?

do steak. buy a couple sirloin or whatever. let the steak thaw by putting it on the counter for half an hour. RUB a 1/2 tablespoon of salt and 1/4 tablespoon of pepper on each side of the steak for about five minutes or steak seasoning. heat up a large pan till it starts to smoke, like on high for about two minutes. preheat oven to three hundred degrees at least 20 minutes with a baking pan in the oven. coat each side of the steak with a little bit of oil then place the steaks in the pan and leave them alone for two minutes. don't move the steak around. flip them onto a clean area of the pan and do the same for the other side. then take the steaks and put them on the heated baking pan and put it back into the oven for about 7 minutes for medium rare to medium steaks. then take your steaks out of the oven and let them cool on a cooling rack for five minutes before eating. they'll continue to cook a little bit after coming out of the oven and the juices will resettle into the meat. if you cut into your steak at any time before this, you'll let the juices escape and you'll have a dry nasty piece of meat.

then you can do like instant mashed potatoes, they come in packets and you just add hot water but you can add milk and garlic or bacon or sour cream or cheese or whatever to make them creamier and special.

and you can boil some frozen green beans, corn, or vegetable medley and put a little bit of butter on it.

then you have a pretty good dinner. two steaks $16, vegetables $2, mashed potatoes $2. so for about $20.

You could always get a rotisserie chicken already cooked and buy some salad fixings, or even faster, you could go to a restaurant that has a take out salad bar and fix your salad there. You could de-bone the chicken, re-warm it and put it on top of your salad and you have a complete meal (you could even get some of those yummy yeast rolls at the grocery store, already warm).

Spaghetti -- while simple -- is easy quick & delicious. Make it extra special with some yummy wine.

How about baked chicken, baked potato, green salad and brownies or cheesecake for dessert.
