I used to watch a program called House Invaders now what they did was an art deco style by painting a wide strip of black along the walls and under neath that with a thiner line of silver. Next accents of red were added. If you would like to follow this scheme paint the walls white; though be warned depending upon your rooms are situated the walls could take a slightly different hue. Walls that are facing north will take on a slightly grayish look and walls facing in another dierection won't. Still the design is great.

well, since black is neutral, you can really do any color you like. but i think what would look great would be a mid grey color for most of the wall space and then a feature wall doing either a vertical stripe of black and silver-grey alternating, or a checkerboard of alternating black and grey squares about 2'x2' for each square. You could also achieve this checkerboard feature by using black and grey ceramic tiles glued to the wall. for some zing you could use a few accents like vases, artwork, cushions, etc. in a lime green or a deep red.

Pretty much any color you want. Don't do anything bright and no pastels (yuck)! I love my dining room. I have a beautiful (old pottery barn type) taupe/gold color. Make sure whatever you do, to pull the color (or similar colors) in with a rug or something. Actually, if you use a rug, then you may want to choose that first, and then pick a color out of it for the walls. Have fun.
