I suppose that the correct Christian response would be to say that magicians use deception to preform their miracle while those in the Bible were "real." Like when you see evangelists making blind people see. They have God's gift. That isn't the power of suggestion or con-artistry at all.

The correct atheist response would be that because people at the time the Bible was written were so ignorant they would believe any hat trick was a sign you were the son of God and would even start whole religions from your teachings.

Today, of course, we are far more skeptical and follow LOGIC to make our decisions. So even though I've seen David Blaine walk on water before I'm not going to think he's my saviour.

Magicians perform tricks of illusion, not miracles. I don't see any lame walking, any blind people seeing or any dead men being resurrected by magicians.

For that matter, I don't see any scientists creating life as we know it out of nothing.

magicians are also refered to as illusionist, also meaning deceving just as satan does to people whom dont seek out GOD,
if you want to see a mircale, just go look in the mirror, life itself is a mircale, not an illusion, unless you dont believe in GOD , then when you die your life will have been an illusion.
