Factory warranty is voidable for salvaged vehicles. Also most banks and insurance companies will not finance or insure salvaged.
But the biggest gamble is that it may not have been repaired properly and may end up getting you and others killed.

Not everything shows up on carfax, and half the time you won't even see the reason for the salvage.
The disadvantage is you don't neccesarily know WHY it has a salvage title. It could be minor body damage in an older car. It could be a theft recovery with no damage whatsoever. You just don't know, and that uncertainty is why they're usually worth less.
Deduct at least 10-20 percent just for the title, even if the car is perfect.
Most salvaged cars worth buying won't be new enough to have a warranty. To total a new car, you need to ******* destroy it. To total an older car that isn't worth as much, you only need to do a couple thousand in damage to it...it won't neccesarily even affect how the car drives once it's fixed. A new car, it's going to be frame damage, and it will NEVER be right after that.

The vehicle has been totalled, no warrenty ever! Some states will not accept salvage titles, Oregon is one. You can have all sorts of mechanical problems with a salvage vehicle, if you are mechanically inclined,no problem, if not, you will likely have many problems with the vehicle. Good luck.

A salvage titled automobile might properly be an exceptionally super good purchase. i've got owned 4 salvage titled autos and different "clean titled" autos. i've got had extra advantageous success with the salvaged titled autos. i do no longer care what kind of identify a "used" automobile has. while you're finding out to purchase "as is" you're able to be finding out to purchase a pig in a poke, no count number what. Even kind new autos are not continually solid, else-clever there does no longer be a "Lemon regulation" on the books. so which you're taking a raffle no count number what. i'm nonetheless in possession of two salvage autos. One has a "wiped clean' identify and automobile Fax tells that its twist of fate loose, (whether it is been wrecked, you could extremely tell) so which you won't be in a position to thoroughly have confidence something. the automobile become bought to me with the help of an excellent dealership as a clean titled automobile, yet I knew what i become doing so I have been given them to in easy terms approximately provide it to me. the different automobile has a salvage identify. i bought it in 2001 with 28K on it and it has 157K on it now. It nonetheless has the unique battery in it! i've got under no circumstances had difficulty getting "finished coverage" and that i did no longer have difficulty getting a private loan on it the two.

It retains the warranty but these are highly undesirable cars because nowadays with CARFAX and such, you can't hide anything. It's horrible to resell those cars and make any kind of profit.
The PROS about it is the cheaper price
The CONS about it is the total opposite. Upon resale, you're screwed if you think you'll make a profit or break even.
