I agree with lovebites and others than a high schooler shouldn't be dating someone in junior high or middle school (and, of course, vice versa).

Typically, three years difference in a relationship isn't a quantum leap in generation gaps. But a girl at the ripe age of 13, seems awfully young for a more mature 16 year old young man. The maturity level is the difference in the age gap. Are you ready to take on a relationship with a young adult?

Absolutely!
A relationship? Any relationship you should have, should be with your mom and dad and your dolls. How did you get here??? Your childhood experience needs another 3 years, your young adult experience needs 5 years, your maturing years need 4 years at which time start considering a relationship. You need all the steps to develop normally and in order to have a real and true lasting relationship from 25 to 95.

From the question it already sounds like you think it is to big of an age difference. No its not to big of an age difference because you are both still kids in away. It could work and then it couldn't you never know unless you try. Everything in life happens for a reason. It just makes you stronger if it wasn't the way you wanted it to happen.

At your age, yes, it is too big of an age difference. If your school system has approxiamently the same age restrictions mine did, you are a 7th or 8th grader, and he is a sophmore or junior. At this point in time, it would probably be wise for you two to wait to start a relationship until you are in high school. Plus, your parents probably won't have as many complaints if you two go to the same school.
Best Wishes,
LB

Its not a big age difference at all. It's just three years, but since both of you guys are minors then it's a problem. You are in middle school and he is in high school. Your also young and naive so anything he tells you nine times out of ten you will believe it. So be very cautious and dont be so gullible if your going to stay in this relationship!

Even though it's only three years the guy needs to find someone his own age. It's not the same as a 30 year old dating a 27 year old.

i personally dont think age matters so much...as long as hes not like 17 and you 5, i mean...dont be dumb about a relationship, if you have real feelings there is no problem. Just remember that guys that age are a bag full of hormones and dont let him take it too far. If you do you'll end up regretting it.

at 16 his hormones are raging
you are 13 and who knows how educated about sex
problem...he will more than likely try to talk you into having sex...like....if you loved me you would, etc.
you are only 13...I know it seems like a lot, but it is very young in the grand scheme of things...
you should wait till you are older and wiser to date. Especially at the age where hormones are going wacko
be cool...

it wouldn't matter if you were a bit older, but you are only 13 much too young, he is 16 and probably much more experienced, not a good idea, he might want to take advantage of you.
